How Does a Surge Protection System Work?
A surge protector works by transitioning between high and low levels of impedance. At normal operating voltages, the surge protector operates in a high impedance state and will not affect your electrical system. If the voltage rises above a certain level the surge protector kicks in. It will surpass the excess voltage and divert it safely to the ground, preventing it from causing any harm.
